The CS 3310 is Cub Cadet’s top of the line residential chipper shredder. A powerful engine, large debris hopper, giant collection bag and dedicated branch chute quickly turns piles of leaves and branches into mulch and wood chips. Add in compact storage, simple maintenance and easy transport, and this is an exceptionally versatile, easy-to-use tool for handling yard waste.
Two Entries and Three Types of Cutting Surfaces
Lawn debris can enter the CS 3310 in one of two ways: loose waste-like leaves, pine cones and branches up to 1/2 inch in diameter can be dumped into the hopper where they will be broken down into mulch by 12 cast steel flails and a 12 inch hardened steel shredding blade. Branches up to three inches in diameter can be fed into the chute where they are broken up into chips by a pair of hardened chromium steel blades. The flails and blades are driven simultaneously by the motor, so it’s easy to switch back and forth between jobs.
Wastes processed by the chipper shredder are reduced 10 to 1. That means 50 bushels of loose clippings, pine cones, needles and branches can be cut down to fit in the shredder’s 5 bushel collection bag.
Big Torque for Big Branches
Power is provided by a 250 cc Briggs & Stratton 1150 Series engine producing 11.5 lb-ft. of gross torque. This engine uses an overhead valve head design and an aluminum alloy bore to keep operating temperatures low for better fuel economy and longer engine life. This engine meets CARB requirements, so it’s legal for sale in all 50 states.
Easy to Move and Store
Fitting the collection bag is simply a matter of sliding it over a set of wing knobs and pulling the draw string to form a tight seal around the chute deflector. A built-in handle and 10 x 4 inch pneumatic tires make the CS 3310 easy to roll around, while the tow bar lets it be pulled to the job site using a lawn mower, ATV or tractor. Once it’s filled, the bag can be removed by opening the locking buckle. When the chipper is no longer needed, the tow bar can be removed and the chute can be lifted upright to take up less space when storing.
Easy to Maintain
No matter how well they may be made, the shredder blades, chipper blades and flails will wear out over time as they beat, cut and slice wood and plant material. Fortunately, these parts are made to be replaced by the owner with access hatches front and back to reach these parts. Feed too much waste into the shredder at one time? A clevis pin-mounted shredder screen allows access to the inside without tools for quick cleaning.
Aside from pre-start checks, most owners will only need to perform maintenance on the engine once every season, and even under heavy use, the most that needs to be done is an air filter cleaning every 25 operating hours and oil changes every 50 hours.
