Cub Cadet’s Volunteer line of UTVs have been around for quite a while, but the Challenger series is a recent addition, adding some fun and features to the lineup. The 750 Crew is the top model of this new line, providing space for four people and loads of standard equipment.
Powertrain and Drivetrain
Power is provided by a water cooled fuel injected 735cc engine designed and built by Cub Cadet themselves. It’s connected to a CVT with on demand four wheel drive and a low range mode. These turn 26-inch tires from Carlisle Offroad, and the suspension has 11 inches of ground clearance.
Hauling
As the “Crew” name suggests, this UTV has seating for four. Behind the seats, there’s a 35.5 x 44-inch bed with a standard bed liner. The Challenger 750 can handle payloads up to 350 lbs, and it can tow up to 1,200 lbs. This UTV also has a 7.6 gallon tank to ensure refueling is infrequent.
Size
The Challenger 750 Crew is 155.5 inches long, 65 inches wide and 77.75 inches tall and has a 113-inch wheelbase. To put that in perspective, it’s almost exactly the same length and width as a Toyota Yaris, but it’s almost a foot and a half taller than the hatchback. Unloaded, the Challenger weighs 1,319 lbs.
Standard Features
Most UTVs come bare bones with manufacturers expecting you to add loads of accessories to make the vehicle useful. Cub Cadet knows the features you’ll probably want from a big UTV like the Challenger Crew, so they build them in from the start. Here’s what’s included:
- A roof and two piece folding windshield
- A 3,500 lb. winch
- Alloy wheels
- Mirrors, turn signals and rear brake lights
- Headrests for all four passengers
- A digital dash with a speedometer
Accessories
Since basic equipment is covered straight from the factory, the available accessories are things that are going to be very specific to suit your needs. Here’s what Cub Cadet currently offers:
- A 72-inch inch snow blade
- A full enclosure or a rear dust panel to help shield the driver and passengers from the elements
- A rear view mirror
- Wide angle side mirrors
- A 12.5 cubic foot swivel/dump cart with a foot pedal activated dumping mechanism that attaches to the Challenger’s rear hitch.
- A power steering kit with variable steering effort: it increases stiffness as the UTV speeds up, keeping it light when making tight maneuvers and making it heavy for high speed stability.
Warranty
Cub Cadet covers the Challenger 750 Crew with a one year warranty on the entire vehicle, including the powertrain.
