Cub Cadet RZT Riders

Mowing the lawn can be a chore, especially when the mercury starts to rise, so anything that helps make things quicker and easier is a plus. Enter the Cub Cadet RZT riding lawnmower, designed to give you the speed and precision control to cut your mowing time in half. Featuring a choice of three cutting decks, ranging from 42″ to 54″, the RZT rider line offers enough variety for a wide range of needs.

The most useful feature of the RZT riders, of course, is the zero-turn radius. A dual hydrostatic transmission controls each rear drive wheel independently, allowing you to literally turn on a dime using the lap bar controls. Coupled with a beefy, reliable V-Twin engine, the RZT can tear through any size and configuration of lawn with ease, all in record time. The powerful engine produces much smaller clippings than other mowers, resulting in a beautiful lawn even when choosing to side discharge rather than bag or mulch.

RZT riders also have a forward speed of about six miles per hour, further helping to cut down on mowing time. Because the zero-turn radius allows for much smoother, more precise cornering, forward speed can be maintained while still producing a beautiful, consistent cut around edges, flowerbeds and other obstacles. The mowers also have a zero-turn radius in reverse, making it easier than ever to make a second pass on missed areas. The RZT’s performance is also assisted by large pneumatic caster wheels mounted on a pivoting front axle, which allows for a smoother ride and more consistent cut over rough terrain.

Cub Cadet has also placed an emphasis on comfort with the RZT line. The two-cylinder engines are significantly quieter and more efficient than their single-cylinder counterparts, and produce less vibration overall. There are also no hydraulic hoses, which leads to a more stable and powerful power output. The design of the mower, including a new seat mounting system, lowers the rider’s center of gravity and produces a more natural ride. These subtle touches, combined with a well-constructed, easily adjustable seat, produce a comfortable riding experience nearly unmatched in its class.

The innovations continue even after the job is done, with several other features to save time and effort. The exclusive Smart Jet Deck Wash System makes cleaning out the mower deck a breeze. Connect a water hose to the deck, start the blades, and the automated cleaning process washes the deck clean in just five minutes. Oil changes have become much simpler as well, with an easy-access oil filter that spins on and off with minimal effort. Routine greasing is painless as well, with grease fittings located in the front tire rims, on the deck, and on the levers.

In addition, the Cub Cadet RZT riders were built with clear consideration for safety. Along with standard safety features present on most riding lawnmowers, the RZT features an electronic PTO which cuts power to the blades if the mower becomes unstable. The mower will also shut down entirely if the rider tilts or falls from the seat, further helping to safeguard against accidents.

There are a total of five models in the RZT line: the RZT 42, RZT 50 KW, RZT 50 KH, RZT 54 KW, and RZT 54 KH. The specifications are similar for each, with a few key differences. The RZT 42 features a 42″ twin-blade deck powered by a 22-horsepower Kohler Courage engine. The RZT 50 KW uses a 50″ triple-blade deck with a 24-horsepower Kawasaki engine. The RZT 50 KH also has a 50″ triple-blade deck, but instead uses a 25-horsepower Kohler Courage engine. The RZT 54 KW couples a 54″ triple-blade deck with a 24-horsepower Kawasaki engine. Finally, the RZT 54 KH boasts a 54″ triple-blade deck with a 26-horsepower Kohler Courage engine.
